Recently, a local forging company submitted a 42” fan to RW for repair and reconditioning. The entire unit was disassembled, inspected, and all parts were cleaned and prepped for reassembly. The electrical components were also tested for failures.
The motor's O-end bell was bored and sleeved to proper tolerances, new bearings were installed, and the rotor was dynamically balanced before being reassembled.
A new fan shaft was made and assembled to the fan blades. This assembly was balanced at 1200 RPM before installing new pillow block bearings, coupling, and grid assembly.
RW technicians also installed new insulation and stainless steel grease lines in the fan before assembling it with the motor for the final vibration and balance test.
