The job of the month for February was the repair and reconditioning of a 500 HP Cooling Tower Pump Motor. The motor was sent to our shop from a local steel-producing facility.
Our technicians inspected and disassembled the motor, cleaned all parts, and tested the electrical components for any defects or failures.
During the inspection, some holes and cracks resulting from rust corrosion were found on the motor. Our team cleaned and repaired the imperfections by welding to ensure the motor's structural integrity. They also installed a new cover for the mounting holes and new bearings.
After the repair work was done, the rotor was dynamically balanced, and the motor was reassembled.
