The job of the month for April was the rewind and repair of a 5 HP Westinghouse DC Motor. This motor was sent to our shop by a local Crankshaft Manufacturer.
Our technicians inspected and disassembled the motor, cleaned all parts, and tested the electrical components for any defects or failures.
During the inspection and testing, we found that the armature needed to be rewound and the commutator needed to be replaced. New brass bearing sleeves and brushes were installed.
After the repair work was done, the armature was dynamically balanced, and the motor was reassembled.
